The Site Management and Site Development (SMSD) Sector, and the Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFI) Sector are interlinked by nature. The merger of the two Sectors in 2023 will lead to cohesive planning and an integrated response under the co-leadership of IOM and UNHCR, who manage the humanitarian interventions in the two areas of their respective responsibility, following the guidance of the Government of Bangladesh. From the first quarter of 2023, this sector is named the Shelter & Camp Coordination and Camp Management sector.
