• Youth

The Youth Working Group (YWG) was established in 2018 to address gaps in services and opportunities for adolescents and youth in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, following the 2017 Rohingya refugee influx. Operating as a cross-sectoral group, the YWG works to integrate youth needs into the broader humanitarian response and program cycle. The group advocates for age- and gender-responsive approaches, emphasizing youth engagement, capacity building, and inclusion. Its goal is to ensure youth actively participate in decision-making processes, with their voices heard in all stages of humanitarian efforts. The Youth Working Group also promotes local youth-led initiatives, and strengthens coordination to meet the unique needs of both Rohingya refugees and host community youth. Through advocacy, the Youth Working Group recognizes youth as essential assets and partners in the humanitarian response, ensuring they are not merely beneficiaries but active contributors.
